Alex and Jeremy Davidson

My name is Alex. I was born on May 13, 1990. High school is one of the biggest obstacles I have overcome, but it has shown me who my true friends are. Living life with a progressive disease, I have learned the true meaning of perseverance. I am currently enrolled at Southern Connecticut State University. I split my time up between high school and college. After my graduation, I will attend college full time in the Fall and study education. Attending college as a senior has taught me a lot. I am looked at as more of a person in college which is very comforting to me. All I really want is for people to see me for who I am and not for how I get around in my wheelchair. I enjoy working on our annual fundraiser for FARA every Fall. This event has turned into quite an occasion. I have also had the privilege of helping Mary Stuart Masterson with a movie last year. Working for her turned into a friendship between me and Mary Stuart and her husband Jeremy Davidson. I consider myself very lucky to have made two such wonderful friends. Overall, life as a teenager with Friedreich's has been difficult, but I have learned that you need to see the things you can do and focus on those things.
