FARAFARA Cure FA

Knock Out FA

KnockoutFAThe first annual Knock Out FA event was held on October 16th at Detweiller Park in Peoria, IL. Knock Out FA was a very entertaining KnockerBall soccer tournament where teams of 8 competed in a bracket style tournament trying to advance to the next round. For every goal scored, each team member was awarded a raffle ticket they could place into a number of amazing raffle drawings! The final winning team was awarded a pair of Zeal sunglasses for each member of the team.

We were so blessed with a beautiful October day and a wide range of players! We had high school students all the way to a 55 year old participating on a team! The event was a nice way to illustrate how those that are affected by FA experience the everyday. We took a sport that most all have played, but by being in the knockerball suit, it limited a player's abilities to play as they normally would. But just like all those I know affected with FA, it didn’t stop anyone from making the most of the situation and having a ball! After all expenses paid, the event raised a total was just shy of $4,000!

The FARA Ambassador Program

The FARA Ambassador Program

The FARA Ambassadors are a united team of patient volunteers living with FA who are committed to supporting FARA in the search for a treatment and cure.

Together we seek to know more about FA, and FARA so we can be prepared to represent the community when the opportunity arises; speaking at events, to volunteers, potential donors, scientific groups, pharma partners, media interviews and other awareness and fundraising opportunities. We believe support is key to continued success toward our ultimate goal of treatment and a cure. Participants in the FARA Ambassador Program are passionate about building and upholding relationships within the FA community.

The FARA Ambassadors are positive, supportive, peer representatives for the FA community, actively raising awareness and funds for FARA. To learn more about the FARA Ambassador Program or to have a FARA Ambassador speak at your event, please contact: info@cureFA.org.
