No one alone can solve the puzzle of Friedreich's ataxia, nor can we wait for someone else to solve it for us. Acting alone, there is little we can do. Acting together, there is little we can NOT do! If your donation is $250.00 or more, you will receive a letter acknowledging the amount of your donation, specifying that you received no goods or services in consideration of your donation, and stating that your donation is fully tax deductible.

There are a number of ways you can make donations and help raise funds:

Individual Funds

1. By Credit Card
   1. Online
      You can donate online through the Network for Good (only U.S. donors). Your transaction is safe, secure, and private. Just follow the directions. You will be asked to type in the amount of your donation, decide if you want to provide FARA with your name and email address, designate your donation for a specific purpose, login with a password of your choosing, and provide your credit card information. The Network for Good charges 4.75% of your donation for their processing fee.

   2. By Phone
      You can donate over the phone by calling FARA at (484) 875-3015 (includes international donations). We will need your name, address and credit card information. You can designate your donation in honor of a particular person or for a specific purpose (e.g. you can name a certain fundraiser). The credit card user fee charged to FARA is 2% of your donation.

   3. By Mail or Fax
      You can download the Credit Card Authorization form and mail it in or fax it to (610) 363-1506 (includes international donations). You can designate your donation in honor of a particular person or for a specific purpose (e.g. you can name a certain fundraiser). The credit card user fee charged to FARA is 2% of your donation.

2. By Check or Money Order
   You can send a check or money order to FARA and mail it to:

3. By Bank Wire
   You can transfer funds by bank wire. To get specific details about wiring your donation please contact our treasurer, Terrence Downing, at tmdowning@roadrunner.com. The bank fee is typically about $15 - $25.

Group and Workplace Giving

1. Corporate Matching Gift Programs match payroll deductions and other individual gifts of up to a certain amount per employee per year. Contact your personnel office for specific information. Many donors have doubled and tripled their initial donations to FARA with corporate matching gifts. If you don't work for a company with a charitable program or do not work outside the home, do you know someone who does that might help?

2. The United Way offers a write-in option. You can direct your donation to the "Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance." To find out if your company has a giving campaign through United Way, ask your Human Resources department. FARA has received United Way donations from many states, including Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania.

3. Religious, Professional, and Civic Donations
   The list of religious, professional, and community organizations that give to nonprofits is never-ending. FARA has received donations from Rotary Clubs, for example, and many churches from around the country. Not a member of any such organization? Maybe a family member or neighbor is and would be happy to support our cause.

4. Foundations support nonprofits such as FARA with generous donations. Do you know of a foundation that might be sympathetic to our cause? Please explore that possibility.
