Donovan's Story

Pix from Donovan's Make-a-Wish Event
Donovan is a happy, enthusiastic nine-year old boy whose love of life is apparent in the many activities that he enjoys. Some of them include swimming, skiing, playing video games, watching movies, building models and playing Yu-Gi-Oh to name a few. Donovan attends third grade at PS 29 in Yonkers, NY where they have provided for his physical needs so that he can excel as a student.
Donovan After many years of our son falling unexpectedly and not knowing why, he was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia in June, 2003. It was devastating news for our family; however, the support from our family and friends has been overwhelming and allows us to handle each day as it comes.

Last year was Donovan's first MDA summer camp where he thoroughly enjoyed himself and made some amazing friends. Our lives have changed, but for the most part we live a normal life. We are working hard to spread the word of the disease and raise funds for a cure. This little boy was a gift from God. We have learned through his disease to enjoy each day as it comes, and there is a lot of fun out there to be had!
