What's a typical day for you? Wake up, do exercises, go to work, enjoy life.

How long have you known you are living with FA? It started when I was 16. Now I have now lived with FA for 12 years.

Are there any others with FA in your family? No. 

Describe an adaptation and/or transition you have had to take due to living with FA: I started to live a little more carefully, but my life is almost as good as it was before

What do you like to do to stay active and what type of exercises work for you to stay strong? I am doing many exercises daily, doing cycling, going to physiotherapist.

Do you have any hobbies or special interests? Interested in many things- reading, watching movies, travelling, meeting friends, exploring technologies and many more.

What is a good trick to make daily life easier? Smile and compliment other people as much as possible!

What is one way living with FA has POSITIVELY affected your life? I found many new friends, and doing daily exercises has given me more energy.

What is a favorite motivational quote of yours? “Nothing is impossible”

What is piece of advice that someone with FA has given you that encourages and inspires you? What we have is not a tragedy. It is just a small problem and we can live a normal life.

What is the best advice YOU could give to a person who has been newly diagnosed with FA? Forget about FA and live like you want. Never let other people tell you that you are bad or stupid.

"I have FA but FA doesn't have me." What does this statement mean to you? How do you live your life in the face of adversity? I have FA, but I don’t think my life ended when it started. I never give up.

Tell us a little more about you…..I am one who always smiles and thinks positively. Each day I live like my last, I enjoy life so much! My career now is working as a sales manager at a high-tech company.

The FARA Ambassadors are a united team of patient volunteers living with FA who are committed to supporting FARA in the search for a treatment and cure.
Together we seek to know more about FA, and FARA so we can be prepared to represent the community when the opportunity arises; speaking at events, to volunteers, potential donors, scientific groups, pharma partners, media interviews and other awareness and fundraising opportunities. We believe support is key to continued success toward our ultimate goal of treatment and a cure.
