Man to raise awareness about cousins' rare disease during marathon

Four months ago Kris Goldhair of Jackson had never run more than seven miles.

On Sunday he will attempt to conquer the New York City Marathon, a 26.2-mile journey through the Big Apple's five boroughs, beginning on Staten Island and ending at Central Park.

"I know it's quite a task for someone who isn't a seasoned runner," says Goldhair, 34, who works in sales and marketing for Citius Corp. "But I've trained hard these past four months. I've gotten up to 16 miles, and I'm counting on the energy of New York to help carry me the rest of the way. ...
