Jackson Walters, age 19 of Kimberly, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2024. Jackson was born March 7, 2005.
Jackson was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia in April of 2017 after several years of going to different Dr’s because we knew something wasn’t quite right. Jackson fought FA with all he had, exercising regularly, eating healthy and always going to his Dr’s appointments. Jackson didn’t let FA get him down. He was very talented in his Art class, won several awards and had a piece of his work on display at The Birmingham Museum of Art. Jackson did well all through his school years. Jackson loved music, Imagine Dragons was his favorite band and he had all of their cds and knew the words to all their songs. Jackson also loved all things Jurassic Park and dinosaur related, Godzilla, playing video games with friends and his pets. Most of all, Jackson loved the Lord.
Jackson never met a stranger. He was voted Most Friendly in his Senior class. He was always encouraging to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh.
One of the highlights of his life, was getting matched last August, with his Canine Companions service dog Axle. They were a wonderful team and had a great bond in their short 8 months together.
Jackson is survived by his mother Heather (Kyle) Hooper; father Kevin (Shelley) Walters; twin brother, Camden Walters; step sisters, Katlyn and Kylie Hooper, step brother, Drake Jackson; Grandparents, Steve and Valerie Harris and Richard and Rosemary Walters; Aunt Melissa (Kevin) Wolford, Uncle Ricky (Kristie) Walters; cousins, Jameson Wolford, Braxton and Kaleb Walters; his best buddy and service dog, Axle and a host of other family and friends.
