FARA offers sponsorships for events such as grassroots, rideATAXIA, the FARA Energy Ball, and the FA Community Education series. Events are hosted throughout the year and across the country, and they provide unique opportunities to engage with FA families in a less formal setting. Regardless of sponsorship, industry team members are invited to register for and take part in these events.

Through the sharing of lived experiences, members of the FA community raise awareness of FA and provide feedback to different stakeholders, including pharmaceutical partners. Several companies have benefited from hosting patient engagements events at their offices where they invite someone living with FA and/ or a caregiver to share their experience and perspective.  Some companies have also taken the opportunity to communicate directly with the FA community at FARA hosted webinars and research receptions throughout the year.

FARA serves as a catalyst to create worldwide exchanges of information that drive medical advances. FARA brings the research community together through hosted programs and events such as the Industry Advisory Summit, the International Congress for Ataxia Research, and FA Global Clinical Consortium based projects.

FARA is dedicated to advancing research for Friedreich’s ataxia through pre-clinical programs, clinical research such as natural history and biomarker studies, advocacy, education, and partnership with the patient community and researchers alike. The investment in this work yields insights and tools that support the development of all FA programs. We build infrastructure and resources essential to accelerating progress across all areas of FA research.
