Sean enjoys archery, 3D printing, and playing board games with friends in his spare time. His favorite FARA event is the FARA symposium in Philadelphia. Sean would tell someone newly diagnosed “There will be hard days ahead, but FA doesn't have to stop you. You will learn to adapt and you can find success despite the challenge. The whole FA community is rooting for you, and we've got your back.”

Xhesika has served as a FARA ambassador since 2019 and dedicates her time to inspiring people all around the world. Her favorite FARA event is the FARA Energy Ball. One thing she would tell someone who is newly diagnosed is "don't loose HOPE. There is always light in the end of tunnel".

Cody Ryan has served as a FARA ambassador since 2020 and dedicates his time to expand and strengthen the FA community. Upon passing the bar exam, he hopes to start a solo practice serving individuals in the employment sector and individuals with disabilities throughout all stages of their lives. Cody’s favorite FARA event is the FA symposium. He would tell someone newly diagnosed “your capabilities are even more endless if you correctly use your resources.”

Scarlett has served as a FARA ambassador since 2017 and dedicates her time to international disability advocacy. She is a graduate student at the University of Vienna studying philosophy, specifically the philosophy of disability. Her favorite FARA event is the symposium. Scarlett would tell someone newly diagnosed, "Don't let it stop you. You're capable of so much!"

Tomáš has served as a FARA Ambassador since 2023 and has dedicated his time to becoming an information bridge between FARA and FRIEDA (the patient organization in the Czech Republic), being part of the international community, sharing with other patients, and helping each other. He is a major figure in the field of promoting sexuality for people with disabilities in the Czech Republic and helped to establish a sexual assistance service there. He is involved in the field of fine arts and founded the "Zátiší" Gallery in Prague, where he works as a curator. Besides art and travel, his great hobby is politics and philosophy. He lives alone in a barrier-free apartment because it is very important for him to remain independent and active as long as possible. Tomáš would tell someone newly diagnosed “You're not alone”.

Lealan has served as a FARA ambassador since 2013 and dedicates her time to spread awareness and gain knowledge about her genetic disease. She studied architecture and city planning and is now a mom to 2 beautiful children. She attempts to balance motherhood and volunteerism while managing FA and maintaining a love for life. An endless amount of gratitude goes out to her husband Daniel, family, and friends! Her favorite FARA event is The Energy Ball, which allows her to use her graphic design skills in planning the event, see all of the supportive faces and, of course, have an opportunity to dress up. Natache Iamaya has served as a FARA ambassador since 2018 and dedicates her time to helping the newly diagnosed enter the Friedreich's ataxia community and learning new tools so she can teach them to this community. She loves listening to music, working out, going to the beach, and studying topics that interest her. Her favorite FARA event is the rideATAXIA Philly. Natache Iamaya would tell someone newly diagnosed "don't freak out, take a deep breath and let's face this new reality with the whole FA family".

Logan Sommerville has served as a FARA ambassador since 2023 and dedicates his time to raising awareness about the FA community. Logan is currently a student at the University of Oregon and enjoys playing board games and video games with friends. His favorite FARA event is the Philadelphia FARA symposium. Logan would tell someone newly diagnosed “Keep your head up. Don't let your diagnosis stop you. You have support from the FA community”.

Camila has served as a FARA ambassador since 2019 and dedicates her time to spreading awareness about FA and learning new information. She likes listening to music and watching movies. Camila went to college and loves learning new languages. She uses her ability to translate languages to help people in the FA community in her country. Her favorite FARA event is the rideATAXIA Coastal Challenge. Camila would tell someone newly diagnosed "Don't forget to take care of yourself physically and mentally, as there is a lot of information currently available and good things are coming quickly"!

Ashley began serving as a FARA ambassador beginning in 2024 and dedicates her time to raising awareness and supporting research for Friedreich’s ataxia. One of her favorite pastimes is spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors. Her favorite FARA event is rideATAXIA.
