What's a typical day for you? Typically, I sleep, eat, take care of my dogs, eat, sleep... rinse, repeat. I am a dog breeder.
How long have you known you are living with FA? (When and how were you diagnosed?) I was diagnosed at 18 with Charcot-Marie Tooth (CMT) because there was no genetic test. Then when I was 23, I was correctly diagnosed with FA by a blood test.
Are there any others with FA in your family? My older brother has FA.
Describe your transition from walking to walker/wheelchair. I used forearm crutches for about 5 years. Now I am in a wheelchair.
What do you like to do to stay active and what type of exercises work for you to stay strong? I take care of dogs.
Do you have any hobbies or special interests? Netflix
When FA gets you down, what do you think/do to feel better? Listening to music makes me better.
What is the best advice YOU could give to a person who has been newly diagnosed with FA? I would say, keep on living your life.
